The entrance to Isola Estate lies at the bottom of a large basin with run-off and siltation issues, draining into protected wetland. Transforming a swampy and often impassable bog into an inviting entrance to a proposed 5 star spa hotel and entertainment venue, was a functional and aesthetic challenge.
A cattle-stop and culvert were replaced and incorporated into a stonework bridge feature entrance with stormwater ponds providing siltation control and stormwater protection. An old gravel road was rebuilt with compacted fill from the landscaping earthworks. The ponds, kerbs and channels work to prevent erosion and redirect water into retention ponds with the wetlands protected and an entrance in keeping with a 5 star resort.
