Umuwheke Bay, Marlborough Sounds

Our client asked us to transform a dank 80's bach on remote Arapawa Island in the Marlborough Sounds. The existing low-slung monopitch building was divided into a series of boxes with some dark rooms and limited views. Completely modernising the structure and redesigning all interior and exterior areas, we opened it up to create a lighter, brighter home which really connects with the land and seascapes.
